2012 MengKuang Dam Penang

This is really the first time i've been here, after living here 30+ years in Penang, but of course I stay in the Island. As you can see this place is a wonderful place for exercise - to recommend only in the morning, due to the open space and the hot weather. This location can be easily find in google maps or here 5.385182,100.50608 to make things faster for you. Beware - there are various types of wild animal moving around, as pictures above, an monitor lizard, fish and we seen some gekco running fast pass though us on the tar road and of course monkeys too. So just beware and keep alerts always.

 This is truly nice hiking experience. Make sure, you have good hiking shoes, Don't have a full stomach, bring water, good camera, towels and enjoy the breeze.

2012 Jan Tokun Hill BM Penang

station 2.5 (below)

This is my first time here and I have made a accomplishment by ascending to 400ft above sea level which they called 2.5 check point. Not too sure why they call that? This place is pack with hikers especially old folks whom take a slow stroll up the hill for some sweat.

It is cooling and the hike was quite tough for me compare to Berapit, this is a longer hike and the trails was not even, so you need to strike a balancing point while walking.

after all it is a nice place.

2011 a day at Bukit Berapit

After a zillion years, that is just since after schooling, i stop hiking due to some reason (classified). Now, I manage to scale this lil hill located at Bukit Mertajam, called Berapit. the way to get there, simple, just follow the Butterworth-Kulim expressway (BKE) from Penang, when you see the road sign Berapit just exit. then follow the details below.

just when you enter the town you will see all these landmarks at the road sides. just drive along and will reach a market, just after the market turn left into the housing area and drive until the end where you will reach a pond.
