2010 Aik Hoe's Tim Sum Penang

I have been leaving here in Penang for the past 30 years and this shop is just behind my school the old St Xavier's Institution Penang (SXI). Everyday walking past through the Chulia Street and it is located opposite of Love Lane and there I did not have the chance to visit this place. Last week just went over there, thought by using the google maps it will show confusing route. So, listen, if you are coming from Butterworth, enter Chulia street and right about reaching Love Lane it is on the left turn. that is Lebuh Carnavon. some directions, well I know it is difficult. So here is also have a map to make it easier.



Environment is relaxing, try to go there in the morning, where the sun is not so harsh, and the place is cooling. Don't be surprise to notice all the customers there is from the 50's :D. I guess they are the regulars there. Chit chatting about past present and future of Penang. None the less the service is good, fast and most important delicious , yum yum. Will be there again soon.

2010 Confinement Herbs

Yippy, with the event of my new born drawing closer, this is for my wife's confinement period herbs, as Chinese traditional herbs will help the mother to become stronger after delivery. With not much scientific evident, it has been proven for generations, and it is unavoidable for me :) Need a strong mother for my babies later :). So you folks out there if you have babies coming you can visit this shop.

Some of the stuff the sell, Dried abalone, Dried scallop ( Wonderful for soup ), Sea cucumber, Ginseng, cost me RM600.00 for a 600gm. Dried Sharkfin, Dried Fishmaw, Cordyceps, Dried mushrooms, other nuts and herbs.

Apparently they came to Penang for training, and much blessed that we can make up some time for a nice lunch at Summer Garden. During that time, there is not many customers and therefore the food was serve quite promptly, except some delays for KK :D. After the lunch with the cosy environment all felt very zzzzzz :D. Hope they can continue with the boring class they have been attending since the past 3 days. Hope sure they can manage that class well!!.

One sad news update, the boss have decided to stop the BBQ for rm69.00 Thursday night. :( no more BBQ nights. Well hope he can come out with something new! EAGER!.

Welcome to the newly opened restaurant in Kulim, it was opened just a few days ago and the place was jam packed during lunch time, unless you can escape for an early lunch :D, so we went during dinner. Currently they are running some promotion, "Free Drinks" with any order of an a-la-carte. Well some comment about the food, for me this time I just tested the friend rice. Portion is huge, anyone with a hugh stomach will love this. For me it was so-so regardless of price. Too oily and not aromatic, for this you should try the one in http://xuanxinrestaurant.com/ or http://www.dragon-i.com.my. I strongly recommend.

Now for the drink, I ordered the mix "Coffee&Tea". This was not as expected, it is worst the the local coffee shop. Old Town (http://www.oldtown.com.my/) could be better. The best one...try http://www.kimgary.com.my/

Environment is nicely setup, echo in the interior can be release due to open space at the entrance, this is good if you want to have a nice meeting, chit-chat. Unlike the Old Town's at the New World Park. It was a horrible place if you wanna chit-chat there, especially the top floor.

My Honey!!

Started taking honey for the past few weeks, according to friends it can lower your cholesterol, especially with lemon, so it is called "Honey Lemon" I prefer hot, where the aroma from the lemon is stronger. The cold ones not so.

Well get this brand from Tesco Penang, the first one I tried, previously I took the Manuka Honey, which is double the price, about like RM45.00 for other is it about RM12.90.

Well hope is really works!!

Moon Shot with Nikon 28-300

Came back from work today and saw the moon was so bright, quickly take out my nikon and shoot, with hand held. Pretty impressive the performance of the lens, the one above is crop out, straight from the camera without and tweaking with any software. The way the VR performs is really outstanding. excellent!!

Haagen - Dazs

Today, after a visit to the hospital and we went to have lunch, it has been a long time that I did not have local food such as, Wan Thun Mee, Curry Mee. We had them at the P.Tikus area, and I was a famous curry mee stall there. Later on my wife wanted to have Macadamia ice cream, so we went to Haagen-Dazs. It was wonderful to enjoy an icy food during a hot sunny day. Seems that all the shop in Penang are gearing up for Christmas, we can feel the mood of Christmas once we entered the shop. With the Christmas decorative and ornaments, but I did not see any Christmas Tree just yet, just wonder when will it be up. Every year no matter what we will have a Christmas tree at our home. :D

Organic Milkmaid Tea!!

Organic Mailkmaid tea? huh, this tea is supposed to use by pregnant ladies to produce more milk for babies. I am not sure of its potency, how good it really is, well we'll just have to give it a try, since we are expecting twins!!.

2011 Thom Hogan predictions

Intended for my reference.

• A 80-400mm f/4-5.6 replacement, with AF-S and a new optical design.
• A 70-200mm f/4 addition.
• A long Micro-Nikkor: may not be 200mm. Nikon may try to kill two birds with one stone again by making it 180mm and faster than f/4.
• 50mm f/1.2G. Why? I don't know.
• A 24-70mm replacement. I'm guessing 24-105mm f/2.8 VR, and announced with the D4. This is an aggressive prediction as I've specified it. But the main prediction is being unnoticed: 24-70mm replacement. I don't think Nikon will sit on 24-70mm and just do something like add VR. I believe they'll take the opportunity to push the specs a bit. You can read that any way you'd like (22-70mm, 24-85mm, or my 24-105mm).
