2010 replacing angle valve for the faucet!!!
huh, today, a 5 minute job, became a 1 hour job!!, why? , huh, that old china made angle valve just broke its leg in the pipe hole. That makes me really use my brain juice.
After using a huge nail and try to knock the left overs out from the hole, after 20 minutes of trying, finally got it out, how?
Well above is the magic tool that all will need for a plumbing works. For me the life saver is the jackhammer (orange one) use this tool and hit it into that hole with the hammer and use the spanner to turn slowly, that will slowly turn the remaining leftover out.
Hope this helps.

D7000 user guide.
Recently with the birth of our new babies, I did not manage to have the time to poke around the D7000, I just got this camera 1 week before the new born, So pretty much thought that this is about the same as D80, just with 100% view finder (this is nice, easier to compose). Here is what I recently found out,
Color Temperature Fine Tuning.
Under menu -> camera icon -> white balance. Every choice here can still be fine tuned. Just be at the selection e.g Tungsten, then right arrow key, you will enter the menu, from there select the point and test shoot to your liking. Amazing.
Further reference on nikon D7000 manual pg119.
For me I prefer to set it this way, at the AUTO go to the palette and choose M1. Save it to your U2 slot. This will help to remove a bit of bluesih tint on your photos to make it more real.
Creating Custom Picture Controls
D7000 allow you to create up to 9 picture controls. Picture controls are those types of settings e.g Standard, Neutral, Vivid, etc. but I doubt we seldom use. :D
Active D-Lighting - just set to Auto.

Our Twin Babies Born on 8 Dec 2010
Hello I am Alexis Tan
Hi I am Aiden Tan
Million thanks to God that our prayers has been answered in the most wonderful and miracle way. The mommy and babies were safe and smiling :D.
Stayed in the hospital for 3 nights waiting, for everything to be OK for my wife and babies.
It has been a very very busy time for us, keeping with changing diapers during late nights and wee hours in the morning and buying stuff that is still not here yet, frequent visits to Tesco and hospitals are the norm. Tomorrow Aiden and Alexis will be visiting the pediatrician for a check-up.
Mom has been resting and recuperating well, started to take those confinement herbs.
Also million thanks to MIL for providing time and effort as a PRO confinement lady. She is really very capable with vast experience taking care of babies previously.
Also to all the uncles, aunties, friends, and well wishers, for helping out during that time.
So from now, this blog will continue to evolve until I create a new blog for them.
stay tune.

D7000 ISO sample picture
ISO 6400
ISO 0.7EV over 6400
ISO 1EV over 6400
ISO 25600
this image is directly out from D7000 as jpg, just resize.
I am sure pro will process it with NEF that will produce much more clean picture. For me, it is fine with just these jpegs.

2010 Best time to shoot at Teluk Bahang Penang
uncle's pet
In Loving Memories of Lucky
RIP: 11 Feb 2011
He was one of my favorite, he could understand our commands and follow without rebelling. A smart one that could climb the fence to get out from the house. A brave dog that fight with bigger ones, tho got a few stitches.
May you find peace in the kingdom of GOD.
This super sharp one taken with Nikon D80+Sb600+Tammy 17-50 VC. Check out the sharpness, very delighted with the lens. And also the flash.
Nikon D7000 candids
This was taken with D7000 and 50mm 1.8 lens. check out the lighting and color, spectacular ain't it? This was taken while we are having dinner at Penang Yellow Gate Cafe, they serve excellent western food during dinner.
2010 J.CO tea time.!!.
After getting my D7000, we went over to meet my MIL, at Queensbays Mall, there we had this sherbet and some chocolate blended, apparently, I manage to take some photo of the shop and its delicious food, mostly donuts. :)

2010 Aik Hoe's Tim Sum Penang
I have been leaving here in Penang for the past 30 years and this shop is just behind my school the old St Xavier's Institution Penang (SXI). Everyday walking past through the Chulia Street and it is located opposite of Love Lane and there I did not have the chance to visit this place. Last week just went over there, thought by using the google maps it will show confusing route. So, listen, if you are coming from Butterworth, enter Chulia street and right about reaching Love Lane it is on the left turn. that is Lebuh Carnavon. some directions, well I know it is difficult. So here is also have a map to make it easier.
Environment is relaxing, try to go there in the morning, where the sun is not so harsh, and the place is cooling. Don't be surprise to notice all the customers there is from the 50's :D. I guess they are the regulars there. Chit chatting about past present and future of Penang. None the less the service is good, fast and most important delicious , yum yum. Will be there again soon.
